After the adoption from companies like PayPal, Square, and Tesla the crypto payments become even more mainstream. The real estate company WeWork announced that it will start accepting crypto payments for its services. The business will allow its customers to pay for their co-working spaces or fixed offices with digital assets.
The company will cooperate with the crypto payment provider BitPay.
Earlier this week TIME magazine announced that its readers can use cryptocurrencies as payment for their subscription.
The first customer to pay with crypto to WeWork will be the crypto exchange Coinbase. The exchange went public last week via direct listing when the market cap hit $100B.
Some of the currencies that WeWork will accept are Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USD Coin (USDC), Paxos (PAX), and others. The company added that it will hold the cryptocurrencies it receives on its balance sheet rather than converting them for fiat.
“When we think about the workplace of the future and business, we have to consider cryptocurrency a central part of that conversation,” said WeWork chairman Marcelo Claure.
